Hi, my name is Bob Hazlett and I’m addicted to making the line on the chart go up and to the right. It’s rewarding, fun and sometimes the power of making an executive’s jaw drop brings a tingle down my spine.
As Director of Online Marketing for the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), I get the distinction to promote one of the greatest cities in the world (and work with some pretty cool people along the way). Check us out here and here.
I joined the CVB in 2010 to help tackle and jumpstart a credible site that lacked focus and profitability. Previously, I’d learned digital marketing and social media at top-notch non-profits and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that, I spent my the first few years of my career in the financial industry. I think that career balance gives me a great right brain/left brain combo – creative with the ability to crunch the numbers. At the Convention & Visitors Bureau I’ve launched an original content strategy that covers multiple platforms and channels, created and managed Internet marketing campaigns that include display (rich media) advertising, e-mail campaigns, search PPC, social media marketing and various other promotional strategies. I’ve launched two mobile apps, established key partnerships and added $200k in new online revenues.
In our chic office in downtown Memphis, I’m actively trying to push our team forward with new technology and fresh initiatives. We share ideas openly and are always open to trying something new. I believe these two traits put us head and shoulders above others in our field.
