Question Of The Day

If you had to choose just one, would you rather give up Facebook or Twitter?  Which one has more value in your life? Which one has more staying power? Discuss.

I've actually been thinking of deleting my Twitter. I just can't get into it. I like FB because I can see what other people are talking about on the news thread and join in. You can write a lot more and have group converstations rather than Twitter's one line at a time. Beth votes – Ax Twitter.

If one had to go, it'd be Twitter. Don't get me wrong, I'd gladly pay for both of them. Personally and professionally, I can have more meaningful interaction with people I care about on Facebook through emails, friend list restricting visibility, and easier muting of the noise.

in terms of real, usable information, i get more from twitter. no doubt about it. i'm involved in several conversations at once, whether actively or just as an observer. the only thing that would make me choose facebook is the photo element. being able to look at acquaintances' wedding pictures and keep up with friends' kids is invaluable to me.

I definitely agree with the comments below. Seeing more content in Facebook from actual people I know is more valuable to me than a bunch of noise and retweets about someone's latest blog post on the top 10 social media apps your dog needs to use.

The big thing is – I don't really trust Facebook right now. I feel like every time I'm using it, I'm inside the dingy changing room of a Hills Department Store – it feels like someone is spying on you and using the good things against me. I used to get really excited about new features that Facebook would bring out. It genuinely seemed they were concerned about the users. Now, I feel they are more in it for themselves and secretly watching me with my pants down.
